So it might not be 100% accurate, but it is a really cool application. I was tipped off to this while watching NBC’s TODAY Show. Usually when I try to pull up applications plugged by The TODAY Show in my own browser, the speeds are horrendous, and often the site crashes before or during my time on it. And why shouldn’t they? You have a huge influx of traffic that you may not have been planning via a Nationally televised plug. For this, I applaud the foundation this application was built on.

The applcation is pretty straight forward. You upload a picture, and it will guess the age and gender of the person(s) in that picture….

Okay, so it’s not going to guess spot on, but it’s a fun estimate that you can get lost playing with.

Running these pictures through this application, brings me back to my childhood. I used to love paying some guy at Six Flags: Great Adventure to tell me how old he thought I was or how much he thought I weighed. Running a picture through this application basically does the same thing, except I am spared $5 and any social awkwardness inherent with paying some random teenager $5 to rattle out a couple of well-educated guesses.

With all that said, I’m truly been having a blast. Check out what happens with this wedding photo:

It is all built using Microsoft’s Face Detection API.

This website is a fun way to embarrass yourself, friends and/or family. With user friendly speeds you can run dozens of photos with no server side delays. Go ahead and give it a try!
